The Da Fu Primary School was founded in 1975. Currently there are 6 classrooms, 208 students and 12 teachers. The school is located in a remote rural area without electricity and water supply. After 28 years the structural condition of the school had reached unacceptable levels (see pictures below). Even the mainland Chinese government had ranked this school as being in dangerous conditions and reconstruction was urged.

The total area of the reconstruction site is 727.79 m2. A total of 3 new buildings had been constructed. One two-storey building for classrooms, one two-storey building for student and teacher dormitories and one building housing the sanitary facilities.

The project was started in April 2003 and was completed in July 2003.
