Outing with Lung Hang Hostel for the Elderly |
||
| Based on the spirit of taking from society and giving it back to the needed, MTO shared a wonderful and meaningful one day tour with 45 senior citizens residing at the Lung Hang Hostel for the Elderly - run by the Salvation Army in Hong Kong. The hostel was established in November 1989 with a toral area of around 1,800 square metres and has 43 independent cubicles which can each accomodate up to four senior citizens. The hostel is furthermore divided into meal and self-care sections. The hostel can provide care for up to 155 female and male senior citizens aged 60 and above in need of hostel services, enabling them to enjoy a happy, meaningful and especially cared life.
The outing event itself took place in December 2003 in which MTO together with the Salvation Army organised a visit to the Yuen Long Lychee Villa as well as to the Hang Heng Bakery. A seafood lunch at the Lau Fau Shan restaurant ensured that none of the participants had to starve. In total there have been 56 participants, including two staff from the Lung Hang Hostel and nine staff from MTO. |
